MW3 : XBox gets 2nd DLC before PS3 gets 1st DLC.

The second DLC will be released on Feb 21st for XBox paid Elite members. What's that? Is that before PS3 gets its first DLC? Yup. Booya XBox... man it hurts to be a PS3 Modern Warfare 3 player.

That's right, PS3 doesn't get their first DLC until Feb 28th (one week later). Sorry gamers.

A map called "Overwatch" has been confirmed to be in the new DLC but what else.... dunno. There is a rumor of a map called Morningwood, but I doubt IW would name a map that, haha.

Here is an image from "Overwatch".

So in the end:

Happy Face for XBox Players
Sad Face for PS3 Players

Keep on gaming...

MW3 : Patch 1.09 (XBox)

On Feb 3rd, when the PS3 received their Patch 1.08, XBox players might have noticed a 5MB patch download as well (Like I did). Well I found out what that patch was pertaining to... nothing crazy exciting.

The patch addressed different player profiles on the same console having access to the paid Elite DLC content. So I guess if you purchased Elite and downloaded the DLC and had a buddy come by and log in with his account, he would have access to the new stuff. No more...

Like I said... nothing crazy exciting.

Play on :)

**Now I am not sure if IW is going to label this patch officially as 1.09... I am just calling it that to be consistent with the numbering. Maybe they'll refer to it as 1.08b or something, haha.

MW 3 : Patch 1.08 (Hidden Changes)

As I suspected, there were more changes in Patch 1.08 than advertised by IW.

The two changes that I have noticed and tested are (1) Sprint distances and (2) Color Blind Assist.

Sprint Distances

Prior to the patch certain weapons would allow you to run further than others regardless of what your other weapon was. Not only that, but your weapon perk would also affect your distance.

Before Patch 1.08 (all cases are with Extreme Conditioning)

#1 : Skorpion with extended mags (regardless of primary weapon) allowed you to run the absolute furthest.
#2 : USAS (didn't matter what perk or what your secondary was) allowed you to run the second furthest distance.

Meaning before you use to be able to rock the Skorpion with extended mags and the ACR as your primary and you would still run the same distance as if you ran with the Skorpion with extended mags and a MP5. This gave you free range to pick whatever primary you wanted.

With Patch 1.08 it now seems that your distance is based on what you choose as your primary and secondary weapon combined AND perks no longer affect the distance. So running with a Skorpion with or without extended mags will still yield the same distance; but now you have to be picky on what your primary weapon is.

So what's the best combo for distance?? I'll tell ya :)

Tied for furthest distance are:

- USAS12 + Any Secondary
- Skorpion + (Any Shotgun or Sub Machine Gun)
- MP9 + (Any Shotgun or Sub Machine Gun)

Color Blind Assist

Before this Patch when you had Color Blind Assist enabled, you could see the enemy "stealth" bomber. It gave you an opportunity to hide or avoid the path the enemy bomber. Now you can no longer see the bombers... it was fun while it lasted.

Even though you can't see the bomber, enabling Color Blind Assist is still a great feature to use because to makes the enemies name tag bright orange and your teammates names bright blue.

That's all I have for this post... I will continue to post any other changes I discover.

Play on playas...

MW3 : Patch Notes 1.08 (PS3)

Morning all,

Today at roughly 2am Patch 1.08 for Modern Warfare 3 went live for PS3 users. As some of you may know, Xbox players have already received their update. To read the changes that were made in this patch read MW3 : Patch Notes 1.08 (Xbox)

As a side note, I noticed that Xbox also received a 5MB download today... I am going to sniff out what that was.

Edit : They announced that the first Elite Map Pack for PS3 players will be on Feb 28th.

Happy Gaming :)
